Cycling & Injury: Why you need to make sure your bike set up is right!

According to Cycling UK, 13.9% of adults in the UK ride a bike once a month for health or recreation and 8% riding once a week.

Cycling was all the rage in the 1950’s as the cost of owning a car post war was cost prohibitive and people travelled less. Since the 2012 London Olympics, road cycling has seen a huge rise in popularity although sales of bikes is declining as the psychological impact of the Olympics is reducing.

Living in the countryside, you cannot get away from the weekend cyclists.

I regularly have patients coming in saying they cycle 100 miles a week. It is common for them to do 50-60 miles on a Sunday morning.

Evans Cycles sell road bikes ranging in price from £335 to a whooping £10,999!!!!

So, people are spending a lot of money on their bikes but I wonder how many spend money on the,selves when aches and pains arise!
